Peoria & Anniversay

It’s an important day today…my 27th Wedding Anniversary! (Yee-ha!) We’re doing a show in Louisville, KY this weekend and it’s one of our favorites.

Someone once said marriage can either be “heaven on earth” or “hell on earth”. We’ve had our patches of both, but when we were at our lowest, we somehow decided divorce would never be the option for us. We agreed to work at having the best marriage we could, and that hard work has paid off. (Thank, God!) In the days ahead, I’ll be unveiling a new project that will include even more of my interests and some of the hilarious, roller-coaster ways Silver Fox and I have found common ground over the years.

In the mean-time, I can say the number one practice we both have implemented is remembering we’re on the same team…not opposing ones. (Well…that and prayer.:)) That practice has saved us countless hours of “creative tension” as we both problem solve with, “How can we become stronger through this opportunity?” We’re not willing to settle for ho-hum and so-so. Life is too short to not love being married…and it can be achieved…we’re living proof. I am so deeply grateful that my husband is a true partner in this life. I love you, Silver Fox…You make my insides melt!

Now… on to Peoria. Below are some pics from last weekend. My brother, Randy, also joined us and we laughed our way through the coupe days we spent together. HarleymommaRandy owns a Harley, so naturally, he took me for my first ride…to the Harley Shop open house…not bad for 51, eh? How ’bout them Farah Fawcett bangs!? Ha! (I need a haircut.)

We stayed at the beautiful Mark Twain Hotel, and while Tom set up the tent on Friday, I spent the day working in this library. What a creative treat!ILMarkTwainLibrary

The Rive Walk Park was a beautiful backdrop for the art show.
